Piping hot!

Ladies & Gentlemen, we saved the best for last...

we built a stainless steel mug!

Actually we built it decades ago but recently a customer was so impressed by it that he offered to buy it from us.  When I told him it's not for sale he was so bummed - which was so flattering!

But it got me thinking I should add it to our month of handmade goods.

How cool is that U-bolt that goes all the way through?!

And just like our paperclips holder, we signed the bottom of our awesomeness.

But you won't find this at our Etsy shop. I'm too afraid if I put it up for some outrageous price someone still might actually buy it. We just can't risk it - we love it too much!  We even hung the blueprints up in our lobby - come by one day and see!

**And a special thank you to the fantastic Mr. Uyeda who hand machined it for us!**

Your desk just got better!

This week we made this: A Sexagon Paperclip Holder!

We took a huge nut, lined the bottom and then filled it with paperclips - boom - a paperclip holder!

We're selling this on Etsy for $8 - perfect for any desk!

Oh yah, we left you note on the bottom.

We hung the washers!

 Look what we made!
Isn't it beautiful?!

It's even pretty outside...

So I started with an assortment of washers.

Then I grabbed some pretty colors of string...

and I wrapped all the washers!
This part took forever.
That light blue one took me three tries - this was a very tedious process!

And to hang them I found sticks from outside.

And poof - voila - I hung the washers!

And now I will put it in our Etsy shop.
I'm selling it for $1,000 because I love it!
I don't really want to part with it (and I don't want to make another one) so I think that's a good price.

We're on Etsy!

That's right - we opened our own Etsy shop!!!

We love making stuff and we love selling fasteners so now we're selling what we're making over at Etsy.
Our first items up for sale are our wine charms! Ta da!

Available at our Freeway Fasteners Etsy shop!

And the Craft & Hobby Association declared March National Craft Month so in honor of  it we're going to add a new item each week, all month long, to our Etsy shop.

Let us know if you have any ideas!

Happy March - Happy Crafting

Freeway Fashions

So a while back I saw this on Etsy.com...

We decided to make our own version with flat washers instead of hex nuts.
And we were super lucky to have the cutest models visit us at work last week so they were our models.

First up, Dee is sporting your basic steel flat washer, in red...perfect for any gathering or social event for the 7 and under.
Next up my sister has on the extra-large-OD steel flat washer, done with gold ribbon "chain"...sleek and beautiful just like the lady wearing it.
And last, but not least, little Char-Char has on the super dangly, extra-large-ID flat washer, done in Zinc & Yellow so it's really pretty.

Side note: They had so much fun picking out which fasteners to wear that I don't who had more fun, them or me watching them - fasteners are sooooo FUN!!!!

A Corny Nut Ring

Look what we made - an acorn nut ring!

If you haven't bought your sweetie something by now, with plenty of time to ship, you're going to need to make something - perhaps like this - for a Valentine's gift.

We used a tiny little thing for the band - I would suggest getting a larger one...

this one turned out really cute but it barely fits my pinky!

We made you something...

For our New Year's Eve celebration we made charms for our champagne glasses out of - you guessed it - fasteners!

We were inspired by these we found on Etsy.

They're great, right?
Perfect for a small little New Year's celebration, right?

So we made some of our own!  We made 6 different ones.

And guess what - I still have the Christmas spirit in me and I want to give you a set!

For the first 5 people who leave us a comment I will send you your very own set of 6.

Leave a comment and then email me at justine@freewayfasteners.com with your address and off it will go.

Have a safe and happy new years everyone - see you in 2013!

Customer Appreciation

Last week we got a nice phone call from a customer who wanted to make sure we knew how appreciative he was for how we had helped him.  He told us how thankful he was for making things easier on him. He said if he had ordered the parts from some other place on the internet it would have taken him 7 days and he would have lost sleep over whether the bolts were going to arrive fully threaded or not. Then, if they were wrong, he would have had to send them back and wait another 7 days for the proper ones to come!  With us he was able to have a reliable contact person - who personally checked they were fully threaded - and his parts delivered the next day! He was so thankful for our service that he called us just to tell us...and it touched us deeply. So we're actually the thankful ones.

We're so thankful to have such nice customers!
